Who We Are:
The Church in Society Ministry(CISM) believes that we can assist Heritage's members and ministries in seeking to match their God given gifts in service to God's people.
What We Do:
CISM steadfast outreach work for Christ our Lord consist of such core projects:
- St Stephens' Kitchen (provide food for 150-250 homeless people on the fourth Saturday of the month)
- SHARE (co-op program that provide groceries for families and seniors on a limited budget); Reston Interfaith (a local non-profit that support the community in need of food, shelter, affordable housing and childcare)
- Nurturing Parents (supporting Fairfax County workshops on parenting by providing a meal) NAACP (support this organization in its objective of political, social, and economic equality)
- College Student and Military packages and Angel Tree ( support families in need by providing Christmas gifts to children). When you witness the love and fellowship in these endeavors; you can truly feel the Holy Spirit and the abundance of blessings.

Embry Rucker Community Shelter provides healthy, safe, emergency housing and supportive services to homeless individuals and families, enabling them to work toward a goal of self-sufficiency. We provide a full course meal to the residents and drop-in clients every third Sunday of the month and all major holidays. Please click here for the scheduled dates of serving.
